The Rainbow Room

Treat yourself to a stay in this richly decorated penthouse apartment. Enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains from the rooftop hot tub and soak under the stars year-round!

Named for the lovely ceiling of vigas with color washed latillas, you'll feel relaxed in this harmonious and soothing environment. Many years ago, Paco's grandfather, Ralph Meyers, created a similar ceiling for his close friend, Mabel Dodge Luhan.

Resplendent with fine art, Indian and Spanish artifacts, you'll be immersed in the colorful and creative atmosphere of "Old Taos". A showcase of northern New Mexican woodworking....rich, warm and tactile, the staircases, cabinets, doors and furniture are all hand-crafted. Two Indian-made adobe fireplaces lend warmth and romance....
A king-size bed, full kitchen, dining area, tub with shower and laundry facility are also provided.
*Deck and hot tub are private and only for the use of the Rainbow Room's guests.Stairs accessing the rooftop deck are very steep.

La Madonna

A large second-floor suite offering a spectacular view of the sacred Taos Mountain to the north and sunrise to the east. Adorned with original artwork featuring the Madonna and child, it is dedicated to the love and security provided by mothers everywhere. In the bedroom, a large adobe corner fireplace lends warmth and atmosphere. Two queen-size beds with coverlets hand-embroidered in the traditional New Mexican colcha stitch and a queen-size sofa bed in the sitting room welcome the traveling family and couples alike. A jacuzzi bathtub with shower and all modern comforts are provided for your comfort.

*This room is accessed via an outside spiral staircase.

The Santiago Room

A touch of "Old World" Spain. Named for Santiago or Saint James, the patron saint of both Spain and Taos. This lovely second floor room is decorated with antique art, artifacts and furniture from Spain and Old Mexico. It gives one a feeling of quiet elegance. Enjoy mountain views to the north and east. A King bed, adobe corner fireplace and jacuzzi bathtub with shower are included.

Yellow Bird Deer Room

Yellow Bird Deer, or in Tiwa, Too-Shkool-Moe-Pay-Na is owner Paul "Paco" Castillo’s Indian name. A colorful and cozy ground floor suite that opens onto a flower-filled patio. Decorated in a Native American theme, it features Plains Indian beadwork, Hopi Kachinas, Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery and fine artwork. In the corner of the sitting room is an Indian-made adobe fireplace. A king bed and jacuzzi bathtub with shower are included.

Sonrisa

Sonrisa means "smile"....this sunny second-floor room brims over with color and whimsy. It features original works by early Taos artist, Gisella Loeffler, with murals and decorative painting by Nina. You'll sleep safe and sound in the canopy bed with its colorful hand-embroidered bedspread. The bathroom is a real surprise.....a custom tile mural depicting the Garden of Eden wraps around a jacuzzi bathtub for two. A floor to ceiling mural by Kristine Keheley completes the scene....have an apple!

Los Angelitos

Angels watch over you in this charmingly decorated ground-floor suite, Featuring a collection of angels from around the world and hand-carved New Mexican furniture. Through an adobe arch is a sunny little sitting-room with flower-filled window. In the bedroom, an Indian-made adobe fireplace lends warmth and romance. Queen bed, jacuzzi bathtub with shower. A twin-size daybed with twin-size trundle bed is available for extra guests.

La Rosa

A ground floor suite that dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, with adobe walls two feet thick, vigas, latillas and local charm. The atmosphere is tranquil and serene, and features artwork in a floral theme. The bedroom has a queen-size bed, and in the adjacent sitting room, a queen-size sofa bed is also available. A gas fireplace and jacuzzi bath with shower are included.

La Luz

Up two flights of stairs there is a little gem, a cozy hide-away. One can see the sacred mountain while lying in bed, and from the tiny living room, the mountains to the east. This room has a low ceiling, so guests staying there should be no more than 6' 2" tall! Double bed, tub with shower. Note: Stairs are narrow and steep.
